Pushback Rack in Orem, UT
Pushback rack in Orem can separate full-pallet component reserves from the individual access required at assembly and picking stations. Nested carts run on inclined rails, commonly accommodating 2–6 pallets deep. Several loads share one aisle-facing lane, reducing aisle requirements while leaving the lift truck outside the rack during placement and retrieval.
Electronics and medical-device inventory demands more thought than grouping matching cartons. Lot identity, revision changes, and production release rules can make otherwise identical pallets noninterchangeable. Establish those restrictions before assigning lanes, because a compact reserve block cannot provide independent access to a pallet stored behind another load.
Pushback pallet rack begins with pallet and load checks
Cart contact must match the pallet underside. Measure dimensions and inspect bottom boards, openings, condition, and any wrapping that extends below the load. A pallet suitable for another storage arrangement is not automatically suitable for movement on the proposed carts and rails.
Beam and frame sizing follows actual loaded pallet weights, the number of supported lanes, and the proposed elevations. Component distributors should distinguish dense inputs from lighter finished assemblies rather than using one average weight. Document the maximum allowed load for each intended storage assignment.
Existing rack additions require a separate compatibility assessment. Identify the manufacturer and components, inspect their condition, and review connections and available capacity. Similar colors or beam lengths do not demonstrate that an older bay can accept the loads and geometry of a new moving-cart system.

Orem component storage tied to production demand
Around Orem Tech Park and Geneva Road, electronics distribution and light assembly can require reserve lanes organized by production demand rather than carton appearance. Keep controlled medical-device lots independently accessible when their handling rules require it. Utah County transfers among Orem, Lehi, Provo, and Spanish Fork also need receiving space that does not become permanent overflow. Our division belongs to Warehouse Equipment & Supplies Co., which has been supplying and installing warehouse equipment since 1997.
Push back racking inventory controls
Revision separation
Decide whether different product revisions may share a retrieval sequence. Where production requires a particular revision, provide separately accessible lanes or place those pallets in another storage area.
Depth selection
Choose lane depth from actual pallets per SKU across routine production cycles. Count the inventory left after replenishment to assembly, not simply the quantity unloaded at receiving.
Lane identification
Give each lane a clear address that matches inventory records. Establish how operators record the stock behind the visible pallet, including batch information when the operation requires it.
Handling envelope
Check the loaded truck approach, lifting range, and placement clearances. Attachments and packaging overhang can change the working space even though the truck stays in the aisle.
Pushback rack rotation and alternative storage
New receipts push earlier loads back along the lane, producing last-in, first-out retrieval. As the front load is removed in accordance with system instructions, gravity brings the remaining pallets forward. Treat this LIFO behavior as an inventory constraint, not something barcode labels can reverse.
Selective rack is preferable when each pallet needs independent access or most SKUs occupy only a small quantity. Drive-in storage offers another dense reserve approach but requires truck entry. Pushback rack allows lane-by-lane aisle access without making the pallets within each lane individually selectable.
FIFO pallet flow uses loading and discharge at opposite ends to support first-in, first-out movement. Consider it for dated or sequence-controlled inventory when the building can accommodate both access faces. Production replenishment may justify different systems for common inputs, controlled lots, and finished goods.

Plan Orem pushback rack around your components
Share pallet specifications, load weights, product revision rules, and an inventory history covering replenishment cycles. Add the rack identification if an extension is proposed. We will use those inputs to compare lane assignments and equipment requirements, then discuss how material staging and installation could coexist with production supply. (801) 942-0493.
