    Pushback Rack in Lehi, UT

Pushback rack in Lehi groups reserve pallets behind a shared aisle face while keeping the forklift outside the storage structure. Common configurations hold 2–6 pallets deep on nested carts traveling along inclined rails. This arrangement reduces the aisles needed between storage rows, but its value depends on how many matching pallets your business actually carries.

Technology hardware and consumer brands often need both accessible picking stock and denser full-pallet reserves. Separate those functions before choosing lane depths. A product with frequent carton withdrawals may belong near a picking area, while repeated pallets of packaged equipment can occupy a dedicated reserve lane without competing for individual access.

Pushback rack depth starts with inventory evidence

Use actual pallets per SKU over complete receiving and withdrawal cycles, including quieter periods. Selecting depth from the largest inbound shipment can leave partially occupied lanes for much of the year. Compare the stock that remains between receipts with the positions each proposed lane would reserve.

Each lane normally serves one SKU, with further separation where batches cannot be mixed. Loading another pallet moves previously loaded carts farther into the lane. When the front pallet is removed using the prescribed handling procedure, the remaining loads advance toward the aisle under gravity.

That sequence creates last-in, first-out handling, or LIFO. It does not expose an older pallet behind newer receipts whenever an order requests it. Establish whether products can follow that retrieval order before treating every available reserve pallet as a candidate for deeper storage.

Lehi reserve planning beyond receipt day

Near Thanksgiving Point and Pioneer Crossing, hardware distribution and healthcare supply operations may receive similar pallet quantities but need different retrieval rules. Hardware reserves might share lanes by model, while healthcare inventory may need batch separation or another storage method. For Utah County movements connecting Lehi with Orem, Provo, and Spanish Fork, distinguish transfer staging from stored inventory before allocating depth. We operate as a division of Warehouse Equipment & Supplies Co., supplying and installing warehouse equipment since 1997.

Pushback pallet rack specifications to verify

    1

    Pallet contact

Record pallet dimensions, underside boards, damage, and load overhang. Cart bearing surfaces must suit the pallets actually received, not merely the nominal footprint listed in purchasing records.

    2

    Structural loading

Size beams and frames using actual loaded pallet weights, lane configuration, and level spacing. Include the heaviest allowed load rather than substituting an average across unrelated products.

    3

    Truck approach

Check lift height, attachments, load dimensions, and turning room at the aisle face. Keeping the truck outside the rack still requires adequate space for alignment and controlled placement.

    4

    Existing material

An addition needs documented component identification and a capacity review. Matching upright appearance does not establish that existing beams, frames, connections, or capacities support a cart-and-rail assembly.

Push back racking compared with other reserve layouts

Selective rack gives direct access to each pallet and accommodates short SKU runs without reserving deep lanes. It usually requires more aisle area for equivalent reserve quantities. Compare occupied positions and picking access together rather than ranking layouts solely by their drawn pallet count.

Drive-in storage can suit deeper concentrations of repeated stock, but the forklift enters its lanes. Pushback rack keeps truck travel in the working aisle and gives each lane its own access face. Neither arrangement removes the need to match lane assignments with inventory rotation.

Where oldest-stock-first withdrawal is essential, evaluate FIFO pallet flow instead. Its separate loading and discharge faces need their own access space. A mixed layout can place date-sensitive goods in flow lanes, small quantities in selective positions, and compatible reserves on carts.

Discuss a Lehi pushback rack layout

Provide an inventory export, representative pallet photographs, maximum load weights, and your forklift details. Include a floor plan showing receiving and picking activity. We can discuss useful lane depths, identify material requiring compatibility review, and outline installation work areas without assuming the entire warehouse can pause. (801) 942-0493.
